Employers Use Spyware to Monitor Employees

Many office employers are turning to spyware in an effort to keep tabs on the online activities of their employees. For example, ExtraSpy Employee Monitor is one popular software program that allows employers to monitor activity on their networked PCs, and the free software can be installed easily without the need for a dedicated IT department.
The client-server application consists of just two files, and is able to track which programs are open on a client PC. It also allows management to grab screen shots form the client PC at any time, and runs analytics on how much time employees are spending on each program they run. Employers who want to use these kind of spyware programs are treading a fine line regarding privacy issues, and should ensure that their legal contracts with employees are not violated if they want to avoid lawsuits.
